Taking Religious Studies meant the part of looking for the way to happiness. And as a crazy student, I loved Hegel the most.I've learned a lot from his lectures on religious studies and his most important thought was connected to his teachings about emotions. He once wrote that only those can get lost in the storm of emotions who don't have anything else in their lives apart from looking for happiness. However, those who have objectives in their lives, those who are go towards these aims (despite all the emotional crises) and continue to approach these aims, can overcome difficulties much more easily. Weekend revitalisation means for me as well to meet my friends and go out. I make these social gatherings even more memorable with a special perfume. Since I never had anyone to encourage me or believe in me, I thought I'd find a supporter for myself. Someone who is by me all the time when I needed it, someone who wants me to reach my aims as much as I do, someone for whom I'm as impotent as for myself, and since I had no other choice, I chose myself. So it's me who is always there next to me (Buddhist approach) and who encourages and strengthens me. I'm the one who pokes me when I shiver from fear of whisper in my ears when I find the task too difficult that 'you can do it, go ahead, things will work out and if you get stuck Providence will send you help, just pay attention to the signs!' I take my optimism everywhere with me. Whether it involves going to the newsagent's at the corner or on holiday. I always count on a positive outcome whenever I am. Of course, sometimes however hard we try, the positive turn doesn't want to come. Such a situation happened, for example, when my car was towed away from in front of a hospital. Apart from having to take a cab to the middle of nowhere, I got my car back in return for a huge fine and I had to pay an on-the-spot fine as well. At first, I thought I was going to have a heart attack but then I only said this much to the workers on the site: "Anyway, I'll remain cheerful!" Apparently, I'm not sure whether it's true, I love variety due to my Aries nature. I try something new whenever I can, whether it's going shopping on a weekday where I choose a different kind of cheese or exploring another way in the city,I'm always delighted to have variety. I love to try unknown things since each little novelty hides some kind of adventure, experience and self-knowledge in itself. We always learn something new about ourselves, what we like, what we long for or what we are good at. I often waited for the circumstances to change a bit, for things to work out and 'then' I would go ahead with my plans. Later on I realized that there are no perfect moments in life. It's impossible to find the moment when every circumstance serves my aims. There will always be problems, details to be sorted out and challenges. Today if something seems 'good enough', I go ahead. Sometimes I get lost among my things and I tend to forget that I'm the main resource for myself. That's why it's important to pay attention to my inner needs, to feed myself emotionally and intellectually and to turn to myself with love. Since throughout my life it's been me who has fought through with me the hard moments when one could be there, when no one supported me, when no one encouraged me. I don't like trusting my job to others. In my experience,it's only me who can fulfil a job exactly the way I've dreamt it. That's why I always pay attention to every detail. Sometimes I find a mistake in an archived writing that was published two weeks earlier and from a distance of one or two weeks I decide that there is no need for so many 'ifs' or 'thats'. I consider appearances, in the good sense of the word, quite important as I believe that your appearance is the ticket to the world. As I see it, no matter what charming personality you have if your appearance doesn't impress people enough to make friends with you, to get to know you, even though you might be a brilliant mind it will remain hidden since you don't show yourself to others. By this I don't intend to say that everybody must parade in fashionable and expensive clothing, but our appearance is the extension of our personality. We provide information to people with it about our life-style, our thinking and our habits. And what is a well-dressed person like? If you're used to realising your plans you start devising plans all the time. It was hard to get used to dealing with the first step and the last one, but after a while I learned it. I plan in advance what the first, second, third and next steps will be on the road leading up to my target. If the whole plan is ready,I get down to realising the first step with intense concentration. Fulfilling a new aim, even if you have some routine, is always like starting an entirely new major project. It's quite hard to concentrate exclusively on what I'm doing that moment instead of daydreaming. I'm a practising Buddhist. It provides me with immense help in every area of life. If you get acquainted with some of Buddha's teachings, your days are going to be much happier. One of his most useful teachings is that you shouldn't identify yourself with anything that is not You. Existence is eternal and continuous. Consequently, you can't identify yourself with anything that is constantly changing. You are not one with your body which is getting older and older every minute.You are not one with your thoughts, since hundreds of them rush through your mind in a blink of an eye and you are not one with your feelings since you can't even preserve them for minutes. Those who can overcome these will enrich their life with a huge gift. I've tried so many times to carry out my big plans in one single step.It didn't work out. Then I realised that everything needs time. Things and work must ripen. Consistent, hard work always pays off. I guess it's because the attention and energy invested every single day in something important suddenly comes back manifold. One who doesn't ask will not receive. That's why I try to be brave enough to declare my desires and wishes! Be it private life, work, hobby or anything else, I don't hide my objectives from others. When I learned and started to practice my skill of using the appropriate energies for my plans and carry them out, I realised that using this approach I can be successful in other fields of life, too. The skill of being successful is innate in everybody but not all of us believe in it. I believe life can be controlled or more or less governed. Of course, it is useful to realise that it's in a state of constant change and if we tried to force it to a stop with our affections, we might get into trouble. Life should be handled something like seagulls flying over a ship. They sit on the current of air and fly with it.Sometimes higher, sometimes lower as the current dictates, and they hardly move their wings doing so. If we learned how to pay attention to the signs of life, if we weren't impatient, didn't try to force fate or go against the current and grasped the opportunity when luck found us, everything would turn out great!
